Our Services

No shame or judgement in a calming environment.

Cosmetic

Whitening

We offer both in-office and at-home whitening kits. The in-office option is a 2 hour (somewhat relaxing) procedure that shows results immediately and these results only enhance over the following seven days. With in-office whitening, we can guarantee your teeth will be at least two shades whiter since patient compliance is taken out of the equation.

The at-home whitening kits are also a great option. Over a period of two weeks, you wear the trays with the active ingredient every night. All we ask is that you avoid any dark liquids within 12 hours of wearing the trays. In no time, you will shine bright like a diamond!

Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are a great option when you want to esthetically enhance the facade of your tooth. Think of it like a thin layer of porcelain very similar to a fake finger nail, being put over the front of your tooth to cover up a dark tooth, fractured tooth, or to modify the shape of your tooth.

Cosmetic bonding

Sometimes instead of veneers or crowns, we can add tooth coloured fillings to your teeth to enhance their esthetic appearance. Whether it’s dark triangles, a little length on your front teeth or your tooth has fractured, we can help!

Oral cancer screening

Oral cancer is definitely a scary thought but the good thing is that if it’s caught early enough it is highly treatable. At every appointment, the dentist conducts an oral cancer screening that is nothing more than you lifting your tongue to the roof of your mouth. We can put your mind at ease and keep a watchful eye, so that you don’t have to worry.

Dental Emergencies

If you are having any kind of dental emergency, we will do our best to get you in ASAP. Whether that means coming in early or staying late. Please call us at 604-874-1003.

Halitosis treatment

Do you wake up with Dragon’s breath? By the end of the day are you feeling a little squeamish about how your breath may smell? There are many causes of halitosis (or bad breath) and we can determine what may be the cause. Don’t be embarrassed – even dentists get halitosis sometimes 😛

TMJ therapy

Are you suffering from undiagnosed ear pain? Is there a popping or clicking in your jaw? Do you wake up with sore cheeks? Come in and have your TMJ assessed. We offer exercises as well as other methods to assist you in improving your TMJ health and if we feel you require more help – we will refer you to one of the physiotherapists, chiropractors or specialists that we work closely with to get you back on track!

Night & sports mouth guards

We live very stressful lives these days. Many people don’t realize that their chronic headaches, sore jaws and TMJ pain is caused by subconscious teeth grinding in the middle of the night. Come in for an assessment or we will happily diagnose you when you are in for other appointments and fit you with a comfortable night guard that you will actually want to wear.

Avoid injuries to your mouth and teeth by wearing a sports mouth guard when you play any kind of contact sport. The ones at the drug stores work okay but they are not custom fit to your mouth, therefore they don’t provide as much protection. Come in for a fitting and we will be sure to keep those pearly whites where they are (in your mouth)!

Dentures

Adjusting to dentures can be very difficult. It is important to be counselled properly throughout the process and at LPP Dentistry that is what we do! We want you to be as comfortable as possible, however knowing that it may take time to adjust can help alleviate some of the anxiety. It is like a new pair of leather boots that you need to break in.  Book now for a denture assessment, adjustment or if you have any questions.

Pediatric dentistry

As soon as children get teeth, they should start visiting the dentist. We provide a calm, fun environment where kids ages 2-16 can have their teeth checked (we say counted), cleaned and referred to any required specialists. We will chase away all the sugar bugs so that your children’s oral health is as good as it can be from the very beginning. We will also happily address any of your pressing questions about fluoride, frequency of brushing and flossing.

Dental exam, x-rays & cleaning

At your first appointment we do a thorough exam looking at everything from your Jaw joint and jaw muscles to your teeth. We also take x-rays to diagnose cavities, bone health and anything else that we can’t see with the naked eye. We will then get you set up on a cleaning schedule that coincides with the diagnosis of your gums and overall oral health. From then on, it’s on us to remind you when you have to be in next.

Restorative

Implants

Losing a tooth can be tough but thanks to a veterinarian, who figured out that stainless steel can be incorporated into the jaw bone, teeth can now be replaced with implants. Implants are 85-95% successful depending on where they are put in the jaw and the procedure is quite painless. Come in for a consultation and we can explain to you in detail!

Extractions

Although we are in the business of saving teeth, sometimes the only treatment option is an extraction. This can be due to the tooth not being restorable (too broken down for a crown or any other type of restoration) or due to gum disease. Extractions can also be needed for orthodontic treatment or wisdom teeth. At LPP Dentistry we insure that the extraction is as least traumatic as possible.

Root canals

Most people hate root canals, until they really need one! At LPP Dentistry. We will get you out of pain by removing the blood supply and nerve from the tooth. This is exactly what a root canal is. We have the most up to date, top of the line materials and will do our best to save your tooth. If it is too complicated for us, we will then be happy to refer you to a root canal specialist!

Porcelain bridges

If you are missing a tooth and want to replace it, a porcelain bridge can be a great way to do that. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap – these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth – and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials.

Porcelain crowns

If you need a crown that is visible or prefer a white coloured crown over gold, porcelain is a great option! It matches the colour of your teeth and appears very realistic.

Gold inlays, onlays & crowns

Gold is the most biomimetic material in dentistry. This means that it “mimics our biology”. For back teeth that are not as visible, it is a great option especially if you are someone who grinds your teeth. To us, gold inlays and onlays look like jewelry in the mouth.

Tooth-coloured fillings

So that you can keep that sweet tooth a secret 😉  Our dentists will do our best to help you in preventing cavities but sometimes it is out of both our control. That is why we restore your tooth with tooth covered fillings that blend in and match your teeth.
